"We have to reschedule again, Andrea. We are so sorry!"Â
How many times have I heard this phrase in the past two years? Too many times to count, probably.
"We finally have a date set in stone! Covid or no Covid, we are getting married! Can we please meet sometime soon so we can discuss the details?"
I have to be honest, I smiled when I read Karissa's latest email.
"Of course, we can meet. I look forward to finally meeting you and Tyler in person. Tell me where and when and I will be there." I wrote enthusiastically back.Â
A Meet and Greet
We decided to meet at the cutes little coffee shop in Dover called http://cobblestone-cafe.edan.io/  please check them out if you ever inÂ
Dover. The iced coffee was great, and the atmosphere was intimate and quiet.
Laying Out the Plan
"Can you believe that the first time I sent you an email was more than two years ago? How many meetings and wedding dates had to be canceled? I thought that Tyler and I might never get to tie the knot! It has been so frustrating for us. I am sure it hasn't been easy for you either, but I am so glad to finally meet you!"
I loved Karissa's bubbly enthusiasm and knew that her sympathy towards me was honest.Â
Too Hot For Coffee
but the iced tea was delicious!Â
As soon as we had some deliciousness in us, we talked about the wedding plans.Â
"Everything has changed. The venue, the menu, the date, even the color scheme, and it feels like I planned three weddings instead of one." I don't want to complain but I am ready to get married now," Karissa said smiling and gently touching Tyler's arm.Â
Tyler was in complete agreement.Â
"I don't know if my tuxedo will fit me. I think I have lost and gained weight a dozen times," he said with a grin on his face.
The Nitty Gritty
After some general outline of the day, I asked Karissa and Tyle to make a list of photos they wanted to have. "What types of photos are really important to you? Do you want photos in the bridal suite? How about the bridesmaids? Do you want photos before they get dressed in their robes? Have you thought about a first look? Where will you get dressed? I know it is a lot to think about. We don't need to iron out the details now but I want you to have an idea of photos you might want," I told Karissa.Â
Maple Dale Golf Club
"I am not sure about all the photos I want but Maple Dale Golf Club has a big bridal suite for photos. I think I will wait to put on my dress until I get there. However, my make-up and hair will be done in the hotel room. If you can, I would love for you to come to the hotel and take photos of us getting ready." Tyler's parents will stay there as well and maybe you can take photos of them as well? Tyler and I decided against a first-look, he wants to see me for the first time as I walk down the aisle. I think this is as much as I know for now, but thank you for telling me to think about what kind of photos I want. I am so happy we did this. Now I look even more forward to my wedding day. Plus you gave me homework, and I am good with assignments." Karissa said smiling.Â
The Big Day
When the big day finally arrived the weather forecast was not as positive as I hoped for. The weather service called for a severe thunderstorm in the late afternoon and all I could do is keep my fingers and toes crossed. https://www.mapledalecc.com/ is a beautiful club and missing out on the outdoor wedding and photographs would have been a real disappointment for all of us.Â
Luckily, the weather gods heard my calls and the storm stayed off in the distance. All we dealt with during the ceremony and the photo session were dark storm clouds and strong winds.Â
All in all, Karissa and Tyler's day was as beautiful as I had hoped for. We ended up with plenty of fun and romantic photo opportunity and I was able to capture all the photographs Karissa and Tyler had hoped for and then some.Â
