Tiana and Bernard's Wedding at the Delta Hotel in Hunt Valley started in the early morning hours. Getting ready with ten bridesmaids requires not only one hotel room but two. Can you imagine having two sets of make-up artists and hairstylists buzzing about in one hotel room trying to get everyone ready to go? What a daunting effort! Having witnessed many getting-ready parties, I can attest that sometimes the party before the wedding is as crazy as the reception.Â
By the time I got there, Tiana was getting her make-up done, and the rest of her entourage was ready to go. In the other suite, however, things were not moving as efficiently as in the main bridal suite. I wonder if all that Champaign could have had something to do with it :)Â
The Delta Hotel at Hunt Valley Can AccommodateÂ
Many of the guests for Tiana and Bernard's wedding came from all over the country. I met a cousin from California, an aunt from Atlanta, and some of Bernard's friends from South Carolina. By having both the ceremony and reception at the Delta Hotel, Tiana and Bernard made it easy for all their guests to have a very luxurious stay before and after the wedding.Â
Vacation and a Wedding, Why Not
Hunt Valley is mostly known for the racehorse industry, and one of the highlights of any stay is exploring the beautiful horse country, with some of the oldest horse stables in the Nation. Furthermore, Hunt Valley is only a stone's throw from beautiful nature parks and of course, there is the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. Plenty to see and explore while on vacation.
Getting Back to Tiana and Bernard
But I digress, this blog is of course about Tiana and Bernard :)
Since everyone got dressed and ready at the same location it was very easy for me to slip down the hall (well, many hallways actually. The hotel is more like a maze than the usual hotel. I found myself asking for directions constantly.) and get photos of the men hanging out and getting ready. Tiana and Bernard share a 3-year-old son named Britain. This little guy is such a charmer, and I couldn't wait to take photos of him.Â
After I finished with the groom and his groomsmen, I took a trip to the ballroom to familiarized myself with the layout. The Delta Hotel is so large that it has an entire sub-level for ballrooms and grand-halls.Â
Just about that time, the first guest started to arrive. To me, that is when a little alarm bell goes off in my head. It is getting close to that time! I make sure I have all my gear ready and in easy reach and usually check in with the coordinator to see if things are on time.Â
Here Comes the Bride
A little late, but that is the bride's prerogative. When things finally got settled, and we knew she was on her way, the grand entrance of the bridal party started.Â
I loved how everything was finely orchestrated and arranged. Everyone knew exactly what to do and their place.Â
Bernard, A Groom's Joy
If you ever want to see a groom's joy while watching his bride walking down the aisle, look at the photos of Bernard! If a face can communicate a thousand words then Bernard's spoke an entire book. He was beaming with joy and happiness! So very precious and what memories!
Ceremony and Party
After the ceremony, the wedding party had an equally fun and orchestrated exit. Watching the bride, groom, and the bridal party dance down the aisle and out the door, I knew that I was in for a treat after dinner. I couldn't wait for the party to start. It was going to be fun!Â
Over to Soon
Just like most reception, the party is over to soon. I want to thank Tiana and Bernard for allowing me to play a part in their wedding. It was a pleasure and joy to spend the day with you. I wish you all the best and a glorious future.Â
